Maria

Sis has Betty, Mummy has, errr.... I don't think she has named it yet, but mine is Maria.

Maria is a bit ditsy like her siblings. She can never move in a straight line towards her target. She will bump into the door, furniture, amble round and round before approaching her target in what seemed to be a haphazard way. But on the other hand, she thinks that she is very clever (a bit like a small child). She thinks that she can slide under low spaces without getting stuck but the collection of scratches and scrapes proved otherwise. She also has a problem finding her way home. However, unlike small children, once she is lost, she will sit still awaiting your rescue like a damsel in distress that she is.

Who am I talking about??? It's my iRobot Roomba, that thanks to bro-in-law, got for me at a very good price which I will never ever able to get locally.

As for her movement, it was shown that the Roomba are programmed to move in a elliptical manner, before ending at the centre of the room. She saves me a lot of work (and I noticed that hairs on the floor miraculously disappeared when mom got hers >o<

I typically set it to 'work' in the mornings before leaving for work and when I reached home, I'll need to check whether she has docked herself. If not, then I'll have to hunt her down. I've learned a few lessons

a) to move the carpet further away from the TV console so that when she is halfway on and off the carpet, the lower edge will not be able to slide under the console, and when she pushed herself further, get stuck under there.
b) to shut the door to the room where there is a metal rack with a horizontal bar that rests on the floor. It got stuck there once when it pushed itself over it and caused the roller to dangle in mid air..
c) to remove all the thin floor mats (towel type) so that it doesn't get stuck in the rollers and make it stop.
d) to ensure that doors are opened fully so that the Roomba cannot get behind it and accidentally shut itself in the room.

I never realised that the house can get so dirty until I cleaned the lint compartment. And no, I'm not posting it. Dirty linen should not be displayed. Hehehehe...

Down with Love - TW drama

I've watched this a few months back. Yes, it is still showing in TW, but the whole series has been leaked out and you can find it on YT.

This is not a series recap, but just my thoughts on it. I don't know why I actually watched it as I still cringed when I recall Jerry Yan's pineapple head Dao Ming Si and Ella's OT acting in Hana Kimi. Must be bored or curious.

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised at the acting. It may be that I had such low expectation of it that it did not fall any lower. Jerry Yan's Lawyer Xu is pretty cool... and he has matured enough to get some emotion into the acting and maybe, b'cos the role is not too heavy, it sort of fits.

Ella Bao Bei didn't go over the top too much (by TW drama standard), but her hair-do... why must there be a tail/horn? I also dunno why the role must be written to be so dumb. I wonder whether Ella will one day get a role that doesn't make her looks stupid (not that she is stupid....)

As for the 2nd leads, well, I guess, they need to be as whimpy and irritating. In all the dramas that I've watched, the 2nd leads are almost always irritating... Hui Fan is only thinking about herself, and as all 2nd leads wont to do, creating pitfalls for the lead actor and actresses. But she is so 2dimensional I sometimes just fast forward her scenes.

As for 'Lawrence', hmmm, on the surface, he looks good, but sometimes, he just don't get the essence of the role. A prince charming can have character, you know. I know that he is doing all that for Hui Fan but for goodness sake, where is his backbone?

But what I liked about the show is the supporting actors and actresses. The guy that acts as her father is just so hilarious. He was the grandpa in the what-the-name princess... I'll edit once I track down the title.

Yang Duo is also pretty well acted. I've not come across anybody as creatively kiam siap as her. The role is written as a tough lady, but I like the soft-at-heart parts too.

And the 2 children are just so cute! Just looked forward at their scenes.

Last but not least is the new lawyer.. I forgot his character name, but he acted just how somebody who is a little bit timid (well, who won't when dealing with Yang Duo) but he just knows how to press her buttons. Although he was rejected by her, I liked how it was done and his expression, a little bit let down but still quietly hopeful.

Errrr......

Bro reminded me that I haven't been updating, so here I am. However, upon launching this site, I just realised that it has been nearly a month of absence!

Well, what to do? You're beautiful calls and I've been hearing it diligently. But now, I'm slowly, slowly coming back to life, and almost letting go of it. But just one very last thing to do. I'll update when it is ready!

You're Beautiful is my official 'Favourite Drama of 2009'. GMN and HTK were two very interesting characters and the actors made it real. They draw you into their world. It's like making friends with the characters for 2 months, and is really difficult to let go.

However, to defend myself, it hasn't been totally all about You're Beautiful. Work schedule has been extremely tight lately and I've been 'forced' to walk miles daily (and yes, this is to be taken literally). At the end of the day, all I want is to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... Errrr... how come I've this feeling that the Family will not be surprised???

Updates???

Errr, not really. I must admit that I'm a terrrrrible at updating. There are just so many hours in a day and I'm more into reading/watching/listening than writing (or typing). My current obsession is 'You're Beautiful'. Hubby can't understand it, and neither can I, but every week, I can't wait till every Wed/Thu or Thu/Fri when the synopsis and subs come out... Sometimes, I even watch it raw, even though I don't understand most of the dialogue. Bless all the subbers of YAB!!! Speaking of which, there is still Ep 8 to watch with subs...

Orange teeth monster

Yup, Rachel is now officially an orange teeth monster, just b'cos she had her 1st cavity filled. Do you know that you can actually choose the colour of the filling? She chose orange and decided to be an orange teeth monster.

I noticed a small hole in her molars and wasn't sure what to do. Luckily managed to convince her to go to the dentist. As we didn't made appointment, had to wait for some time, but it proved to be a day of blessings for us. She got a very gentle dentist, who explained the procedures to us, and then explained it again to her, step-by-step. So, it was quite a pleasant experience, which was good!

By the way, the filling is just a small hole. But if Rachel is happy to be an orange teeth monster, who am I to disappoint her? Just had to inform her that she is not supposed to collect teeth filling of various colour. One is enough!!!

Dr Tan informed us that as Rachel's upper jaw is recessed behind the lower jaw, she couldn't bite properly and advised us to think about getting a splint. We found out later that it will cost RM700+, so are still thinking it over as Rachel will need to wear it continuously for 3 months, and the effect may not last when the permanent teeth erupts. It is not so much the money but whether the money will go to waste if Rachel would not wear it.

I'm trying to get a second opinion later this week, whether it is best to wait until her permanent teeth erupts or do a 2-stage reconstruction.

PS. why am i posting so much now? Well, I'm not telling... >-<

Clazziquai - spazz

Listening to Clazziquai's Sweety. I totally forgot that I've got this song until I plugged in my thumbdrive into my car's FM modulator... and I totally fell in love with it. I must have listened to it when I first downloaded it... I guess at the time, I wasn't in the correct frame of mind to enjoy it... Horan and Alex and DJ Clazzy are great. Just dunno under wat category does their music fall into. But that's not important isnt it. Just sit back and enjoy...

Btw, Alex in We Got Married is totally unbelievable... he is so sweet and totally romantic. He bakes (i think), but he certainly can make kimbap. And he can take care of kids... I remembered the twins and his ever present Polaroid camera.

Now that they have exited the show, kind of miss them. Shin Ae is getting married for real.. see how much time I spent on kdrama and k variety shows???

I've got to go and download more of Clazziquai...

Edit: nope, can't find any on the free sharing, don't requires membership/login sites... times are getting harder for pirates... kekekekeke
